More About Us
OUR BACKGROUND
Creation
We, AJA (also known as the “Association des Jeunes d ’Atlanta”) of Georgia, United States of America, are people who find their origin within the African continent. We decided on the 16th day of January 2019 to create this Cultural Association.
With 30 founding members, we decided to open the association to more members as we were establishing our Bylaws, executive team and registering our organization as a non-profit
Motto
Our Motto is “VISION , SOLIDARITY , PROGRESS”
Headquarters
The headquarters of the association is located in the city of Atlanta, State of Georgia, USA.
The association is incorporated under applicable State and Federal laws of the United States of America as a non-stock, non-profit, non-governmental association.
Goals and Objectives
AJA goals and objectives are to:
Provide a support system for “Association des Jeunes d’ Atlanta” people in GA and other states with an affiliation to Georgia
Promote the proud cultural heritage of Africa.
Work towards supporting expansion in “Association des Jeunes d’ Atlanta” across the US.
Enhance the socio-economic capacity of members of the “Association des Jeunes d’ Atlanta” community in Georgia

Membership Options
WHAT WE OFFER

Membership Subscription
$50
Membership is open to all African residing in the State of Georgia and outside.
Membership is open to the spouse of AJA residing in the State of Georgia or with affiliations to the state of Georgia
Membership is open to AJA's children who are 18 years old and reside in the State of Georgia.
New members and returning members are required to enroll by paying the $50 subscription activation fee

Regular Membership Monthly Fees
$20
All members shall pay a weekly contribution of $5 or a monthly contribution of $20 to AJA.

Honorary Members
EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY
Honorary members shall not be dues paying members of the association. They shall act at all times in the best interest of the association. They shall attend and speak at meetings, participate in activities, but shall not have the right to vote at meetings.
Honorary membership is open to people of high moral integrity and public influence who are willing to promote the activities of the association
Honorary members can be resident in the United States or outside of the United States.
Recommendations for honorary membership can be made by any member of the association.
Recommendations for honorary membership may be based on recognition of contribution to the development of Africa, or ability to positively impact the AJA community in the US or Africa.
Designation of an honorary membership must be approved by a vote of two -thirds (2/3) majority of the members of the association present during a General Assembly meeting

Life Event Fees
REFER TO THE BYLAWS
AJA assists members with a gift when a member has a life event (Graduation, Birth, Death, Wedding and more)
The fees for the members will be announced based on the fees described on the bylaws
If you are a member who has just experienced a life event, please remember to complete the "life event form" that will be reviewed by the current executive team and informed to the members to follow guidelines describes on the bylaws

Fines for Actions Related to Meetings' Discipline
CHECK THE BYLAWS
In order to ensure that meetings are conducted in an orderly and disciplinary manner, there are fines that shall be imposed each time the offense is committed.
The perpetration of these offenses would be enforced by the Protocol Officer and Financial Department
